Canadian Black Book is excited to host the 22nd edition of the Kathy Ward Memorial Golf Tournament. One of the most popular events of the season will tee off, September 9, 2019 at the exclusive Magna Golf Club in Aurora, Ontario.
The long standing and well-known tournament, took on new meaning last year, when it was renamed in honour of Canadian auto industry icon, Kathy Ward. Kathy, the former CEO of Canadian Black Book, lost her battle with cancer in December of 2017 and the tournament was re-named in her honour to commemorate a true pioneer and advocate for women in Canada’s auto business.
All tournament proceeds go to Tim Horton Children’s Foundation. Since inception in 1997, the tournament has raised well over $600,000 for this charity which was personally chosen by and close to Kathy’s heart.
“We miss Kathy dearly. This golf tournament is a great way to remember her and what she truly cared about,” says Brad Rome, President, Canadian Black Book. “Kathy loved this tournament, she loved golf and she was passionate about the ultimate cause of the day, to raise money to help send underprivileged children to camp,” adds Rome.
Last year’s weather was abysmal, yet almost every registered player showed up, played and stayed for dinner which really spoke to the industry’s dedication to supporting the cause.
